Candlestick Consulting helps schools strengthen school leadership, instruction, and culture through personalized, shoulder to shoulder coaching. Led by Tom Weishaupt, we partner with educators to create sustainable systems that drive student success.

Meet the Founder

Tom Weishaupt is a former teacher, school leader, and system leader who founded Candlestick Consulting, to partner with schools to improve educational outcomes for students. Tom has spent close to two decades working in urban education on the east coast. He began his teaching career with Teach for America in Brooklyn, New York. After his corps years, Tom moved back to his home city of Philadelphia where he taught middle school and elementary school before becoming an assistant principal and then principal in both Philadelphia and Camden, New Jersey. After spending 6 years as a principal, Tom became a principal manager in Philadelphia. During his time in schools, he was developed by people who believed in him and the brilliance of the children he taught and served. Development and coaching are now the foundation of his own work. Tom remains focused on equity for all students and the idea that great schools are built by good people. Candlestick consulting offers customized coaching services built on research based practices that lead to excellent student outcomes.
